One year after acquiring Saab Space and its subsidiary Austrian Aerospace, the Swiss RUAG technology group is continuing to strengthen its space business by acquiring Oerlikon Space.
Space is a strategic priority of RUAG's corporate strategy. Together with telecommunications and navigation, space is growing in importance in connection with earth observation for security and environmental purposes.
With 650 employees, RUAG Aerospace is now the largest independent space supplier operating from Switzerland, Sweden and Austria. It develops and builds equipment, mechanisms and structures for satellites, launch vehicles and scientific instruments. RUAG Aerospace has already been collaborating successfully with Oerlikon Space for many years, for example on the payload fairings for the Ariane and Atlas rockets.
Swiss Capital Group acted as sole financial advisor to RUAG including the due diligence and valuation of Oerlikon Space as well as the negotiations with the seller.
